There might be 100 a styles of making an omelette. But if you ask me, the desi style is the best. This recipe has all of India’s favorite ingredients and spices. You can also make it real quick, so it comes in handy when time is scant. So let’s dig into the recipe. Hope you like it!
Ingredients:
- 100 gms Chickpea Flour
- 2 tbsp crushed Tofu
- 1large Tomato
- 1 large Onion
- 2 tsp Corriander
- 3 Green Chilies (optional)
- 2 tsp Psyllium Husk (optional)
- 1 tsp Black Salt
- 250 ml Water
- Oil for brushing the pan
- Black Salt
- Nutritional Yeast (optional but soooo good!)
- Pepper powder
Method:
Mix the Omelette Ingredients very well & let it sit for 5-10 minutes. Brush your pan with some oil and add 2 spoonfuls of the mix to the pan, and spread. Let it toast well & flip. This is a delicate Omelette. So flipping would be ideal. If you prefer to use a spatula, make sure it does not break or add less water. Psyllium Husk adds a nice texture to the Omelette that resembles egg whites. If you have a delicate tummy, skip it since it has laxative properties.
Once you flip the Omelette, sprinkle some black salt & Nutritional yeast on the cooked side. Cook well and eat hot or as a sandwich, burger topping, or roll in a roti.
